🎂 Tomorrow is my birthday. 🎂 No I am not going to go off and get botox…
As I get another year “younger”, I’m deeply reflecting on how I want to evolve. It’s never too late for reinvention or growth. In fact, continual change can help signs of aging more than botox.
This time, patience is my big focus. I have found myself becoming increasingly short on that very important attribute.
1. My daughter takes ages to put on her shoes and I raise my voice
2. My parents stubbornly refuse hearing aids despite their faltering hearing. My repetitions are often laced with annoyance.
3. At my job, our rapid pace often sparks miscommunications. Feelings get hurt and we slow down.
Deep breath. I need to be more patient. That might mean repeating myself endlessly at home or sharing the same info across multiple Slack channels at work. Both need to be done with calm and positivity. Everyone is usually doing their best. And I need to acknowledge that.
Slowing down and being present could revolutionize how I navigate both home and work life.
But that’s not all. I’m zeroing in on self-care and balance. Juggling work, family, and personal stuff can be crazy, so it’s crucial to find “me” time to recharge. If I find even 20 minutes of “me” time a day, I find I have much more energy for patience.
So, let’s challenge ourselves to be more patient and kinder to both others and ourselves. Every small step towards growth counts. Here’s to a year filled with patience, reflection, and relentless personal growth! 🚀
It will keep you young. I promise. 😀
